WOMBATHLON 2014 - 22 March
A day to celebrate all the goodness of mountainbiking and the company of good friends.
The Wombathlon went off as planned and we hope you all had a ball.
First up we had Baldricks downhill.
3 timed runs on Baldricks Hill and the combined total time on track to crown the Wombathlon Downhill Champion 2014.
Team Wombat Downhill Champion 2014 = Chris The Man !!!
Chris and his 26" Yeti blitzed the comp with three consistent runs to take out the title.
You really are The Man - Congratulations
Honorable mentions:
Pixie had the fastest run time on Baldrick DH for the day but could not complete the third run due to the new Yeti SB75 breaking down. (DNF).
Canadian Art for braving Baldrick DH on his classic early 1990 hardtail and staying alive and in one peace.
Young Peter for finishing his first Downhill race - well done.
Mick for the best crash of the day over the drop off , congrats for going over the jump and hope your ancle will be o.k.soon. (ouch)
Simon for having a good go at the jumps and give that Giant a good workout.
Second Dual Slalom on Basil Hill.
Eliminator Dual Slalom to the last man standing which is the Team Wombat Dual Slalom Champion.
Team Wombat Dual Slalom Champion 2014 = Ian the Doctor !!!
Doctor Ian beat Maddog Brendan for the title in an epic battle to be the last man standing - Congratulations.
Honorable mention goes to Brad the Dangerman for riding in Dual Slalom after a long absence from biking - good to see you back in the saddle young Dangerman.
Last but not least there was the Wombathlon.
All out dash over three loops of floodlit Maddies loop only interupted by the occasional beer.First one to cross the line will be Wombathlon Champion 2014.

It was to close to call looking through beergoogles so we decided it was a tie.
Pixie and Chris - congratulations to be the first Wombathlon Champions ever!!
Celebrations went on deep into the night and we still could not solve the meaning of life or more importantly what 650b stands for? (perhaps next year?).
